It’s necessary to cut the carpet so that it fits properly, starting with an overlap of about six inches that can be cut down to size. Seams in the carpet can be ironed over so that they adhere together, for a smooth, seamless look. The carpet can then be attached to the underlay or adhesive, and stretched into place.
